Young Scottish player McGregor (Left) was outstanding and got a goal

Stokes 2, Johansen 42, McGregor 47
When a manager arrives to take a new side all the wants is to hit the ground running. Celtic fans being very demanding expect Celtic to win dominos in a local pub, so a win was vital for the confidence of the new manager, his staff and players
The first half was a good game and Celtic found themselves 1-0 after 50 seconds, a high ball over the top from Lustig, the keeper had committed half way, Stokes lobbed the keeper for a brilliant goal and a superb start for the new manager
On 19 minutes the score was 1-1, defensive slip saw the Krasnodar striker race through on goal and slip the ball past Zaluska. We could have been 2-1 or 3-1 down in this 5 minute period, Mulgrew was tucking too far over towards left back to help F. Twardzik leaving Van Dijk alone with only Brown and Johansen remotely close to help. Celtic sorted this problem by getting Brown to sit deeper and it worked very well, and already I can see our new manager can make tactical changes to actually change a game. Because after that Celtic had a few half chances
On 38 minutes Celtic made it 2-1 with a superb goal. Utter determination from Norwegian Johansen chasing what looked like a lost cause, beat two Russian defenders to the ball, rounded the keeper and from an acute angle, great through ball by Commons and quality for my Man of the Match for the first half.
Half time – Celtic 2-1 FC Krasnodar
The second half seen almost every player replaced and the side were so young, Matthews I think was the oldest defender. I must say a year in England at Nott’s County for Callumn McGregor can be the making of this kids Celtic career, he was superb throughout the 2nd half, all over the park, breaking play up, squaring the ball 5 yards and pinging long passed 50 yards, for me McGregor was the 2nd half man of the match
We seen Leonardo Fasan in goal, Adam Matthews, Eoghan O’Connell, Calum Waters, Stuart Findlay, Callumn McGregor, Pukki, Griffiths, Kayal, Atajic replace the entire first half team. Young Italian keeper Leonardo Fasan showed us all why he is so highly rated at Celtic with several stunning displays, Matthews added good width I don’t think Boerrigter or McGeouch gave us in the 1st half. Henderson and Kayal were chasing everything and, well McGregor, really, amazing this kid was. I know it’s pre-season but all the talk about him last year in England with is goals, it was easy to see why Nott’s County wanted to keep him, I think it’s safe to say he has a future at Celtic.
5 minutes into the 2nd half a pass drilled from the right by Atajic was hammered home by McGregor and boy was he happy. He knows he has a chance at Celtic under Ronny. The 2nd half was almost a midfield game, Fasan saved well several times, Griffiths and Pukki had shots saved and deflected wide
So first game and I seen a Celtic team really close down hard, every player was giving 100%, we were good in possession, we took our chances when they came. And already you can see Ronny has made his mark on our team. The width is something we need to address, with James Forrest out for weeks already at the start of this season we have Adam Matthews who I think can play right wing. I am yet to be convinced by either Boerrigter or McGeouch but we must give them time under the new regime
Great start, all it is. But a brilliant start against a very good outfit.
See you all Sunday against Rapid Vienna at a 5pm kick off
Till then, Hail Hail
