What power does music have?

flower-power-splashMany people who know me on here will know music is a something I hold dear to my heart, like most I guess?

There isn’t a moment in any day where I am not hooked up to some device listening to music. And sometimes when I am low, in the dark, they music can pull me out. When I am on a high, happy as a person can be, music is like a bird chirping in my ear with a hint of love. When I am just at ease, music is there.

Music to me has always been a massive inspiration. Music CAN change the world. Playing for change here, http://playingforchange.com/ <Dead Blog) is something I think everyone should have a look at, I joined up and offered my services. Maybe one day I can sing for them? I am a trained singer at a VERY average level, but I love to sing. I sang infront of 200 people once, and I find singing infront of 200 people easier than my vocal coach, one on one, one on one is more direct. Ask any singer, they will tell you 1 on 1 it very intimate and hard, singing in-front of larger crowds or people, whatever, is easier

So we all have music in our lives, I am no different. I just like to express it more. I have done many, many blogs on music here http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com/category/music/ And sharing music I love

If I had to pick a song, a song with more meaning than any, it would be the one below. This is the song Miss Shaun and I, as kids loved, and we are still together all the way through high school till today. We often listen to this song and smile, and hug and know.

Everyone should have a song. This I guess, in-fact no, I know, is ours. To the woman I love and I. The day we fell in love, she wore this beautiful red dress. So, this is why. Miss Shaun was a model when we were young adults, for a short time. I went for her personality, but her looks got me first glance. Then I knew she wasn’t like all he other pretty girls, she had a heart. She had been hurt before as we were friends first, so I just went for it one day. We had gone out as boyfriend and girlfriend as kids before, we were getting to 16 year old stage, and I seen her hurt, all the boys would only want one thing, she said no, she only wanted love, and I gave her this, and today, well she gives me it back, and gave me 4 kids I love more…

This is just MY story about music. If you read this babe, you know x When we first danced to this song, I didn’t know you would pick me for life. Thank you xx You were easy to love, as you wanted TRUE love, you didn’t want lads who wanted sex only, you had a heart and so did I and we met under strange circumstances, all I can say is I am glad we did. She was half going out with this lad, and he was always boasting “I will get to have sex with here” So I grabbed her, and kissed her in-front of him. He didn’t do a thing, as he knew better. And from that day to this, we have been friends first, lovers second. I know kissing her in-front of a man who wanted one thing was wrong, but I would do it again. She deserved more, better, true love, and the safety in knowing the man she was with would die for her, and I would

You are my everything. People may be being sick at me here, but when I decided to blog here, I decided to blog my heart and more, my blog, my rules

    • WOW..I get it.
I have this saying “Get busy living, or get busy dying”
I chose the first one. I put the lyrics below for others to see.

I loved the song and I LOVE the lyrics.
We don’t hear much of Dolly Parton over here these days, and that was something.
And it reminded me right away of “Get busy living, or get busy dying”

      Thank you.
The meaning was not lost on me

Just so others can see also..

People always comin’ up to me and askin’
      “Dolly, what’s your secret?
With all you do, your attitude
Just seems to be so good
      How do you keep it?”
Well I’m not the Dalai Lama, but I’ll try
To offer up a few words of advice

You better get to livin’, givin’
Don’t forget to throw in a little forgivin’
      And lovin’ on the way
You better get to knowin’, showin’
A little bit more concerned about where you’re goin’
Just a word unto the wise
      You better get to livin’

A girlfriend came to my house
Started cryin’ on my shoulder Sunday evening
She was spinnin’ such a sad tale
I could not believe the yarn that she was weavin’
So negative the words she had to say
      I said if I had a violin I’d play

I said you’d better get to livin’, givin’
      Be willing and forgivin’
Cause all healing has to start with you
      You better stop whining, pining
      Get your dreams in line
And then just shine, design, refine
      Until they come true
And you better get to livin’

Your life’s a wreck, your house is mess
      And your wardrobe way outdated
All your plans just keep on falling through
Overweight and under paid, under appreciated
I’m no guru, but I’ll tell you
      This I know is true

You better get to livin’, givin’
A little more thought about bein’
A little more willin’ to make a better way
      Don’t sweat the small stuff
      Keep your chin up
      Just hang tough
And if it gets too rough
Fall on your knees and pray
      And do that everyday
      Then you’ll get to livin’

The day we’re born we start to die
Don’t waste one minute of this life
      Get to livin’
Share your dreams and share your laughter
Make some points for the great hereafter

      Better start carin’
      Better start sharin’
      Better start tryin’
      Better start smiling
And you better get to livin’
