In the City of Dimapur the question “Is India actually a democracy” has been asked by many from inside and outside India. I say well done the students and people of India for standing up to Rape, rape is a massive problem in India and I guess the people have said “Enough is enough” But one thing a democratic country can’t do is allow Public Executions. The man 35 year old man died in hospital. Mob Rule is something you see in Middle Africa, organised in some Mediterranean countries like Saudi Arabia. What the people of Dimapur have shown the World is they are getting tired of rape, one can only hope this does not spread to other Cities, India has the 2nd biggest populous of 1.3 Billion people and should this spread it could get out of hand very quickly. The video below says as much. I say well done to the people for standing up while their government and leaders didn’t but we can’t have the Worlds biggest democracy killing indiscriminately as it feels, keep in mind the man they killed had not been found guilty, what if they have killed an innocent man? I wrote about a friend of mine, James Toner who was set up by a police force rampant in India of taking bribes and he spent 4 years in India for doing nothing, it is said India has the most corrupt Police Force in the 1st World, democratic World. https://shaunynews.com/2015/02/08/savage-rapemurder-disabled-woman-new-protests-over-sexual-violence-in-india-james-toner-story/

Thousands of furious Indians swarmed the streets to publicly – and violently – kill a man who was suspected of being a rapist. The pictures have emerged after they broke into a prison, kidnapped the man, stripped him naked and mercilessly beat him to death in front of a frenzied crowd. A 25-year-old believed to be part of the mob was injured when police opened fire and he later died in hospital.  Taking justice into their own hands, the angry crowd was a terrifying portrayal of the country’s increasingly aggressive stance against sexual violence.

Maybe this will stop the rape gangs? I hope so, but this was still wrong

It is VERY hard to argue with the logic behind this statement - Activists of the Communists Party of India (CPI) hold placards during their protest against the rapists of Delhi student, Nirbhaya, in Hyderabad.

Chilling: Despite the horrific and public nature of the attack, the violent mob is an embodiment of the country's increasingly tough stance towards - and disgust for sexual violence

It overpowered security at the Central Jail in the city of Dimapur and grabbed the man who apparently raped a female student multiple times last month. According to local media reports, he died while being dragged four miles through the streets as people beat and pelted him with stones.  He has been identified as a 35-year-old used car trader, according to The Indian Express.

  1. wow – this shows the importance of swift and fair justice, when a government doesn’t provide it – the people in their frustration take matters into their own hands. I’m not justifying it, but I can understand the frustration, this is a very delicate matter that I hope allows the country to change for the better.

    • Well said as usual Bill, this is exactly what this is. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi told his courts to do nothing, we seen people walk after alleged rape. The Indian Government failed it’s people. Most interesting here is most involved were student age, the next generation in India have given India a chance to rid rape from India and make people accountable. Like you I don’t agree with this, but turn the coin around, the people have had enough. With the news breaking from Israel are we seeing a new generation standing up?
Interesting times we live in Bill
