This has been the 3rd or 4th similar theft in the last year in Edinburgh. They all get caught as I am sure these will get caught also. I don’t understand people who try to steal from a shop in the center of Edinburgh as there are camera’s all over the town and on all main roads in and out. I say drug users, usually it’s people not thinking things through too well due to being addicted to Heroin etc. I am sure they will be caught by midweek. Of course I am guessing, educated guess they are drug users, seems to always be the case
Police are hunting a man and a woman who carried out a “terrifying” knifepoint robbery on a shop in Edinburgh. The pair, who wore balaclavas, entered the Edinburgh Scarf Co on the city’s High Street and threatened a member of staff around 6.40pm on Saturday. Police Scotland said the man and woman then made off on foot with a small amount of cash and a selection of goods. They were last seen entering Blackfriars Street in the direction of the Cowgate.
No-one was hurt in the incident but police have asked for any witnesses to come forward.
The man had a slim build and was wearing a dark balaclava, a black hooded jacket, black tracksuit bottoms with a light-coloured patch near to his pockets, black trainers, black gloves and was carrying a black holdhall. His female accomplice wore a bright red balaclava and had a medium or chubby build.
At the time of the robbery she wore dark tracksuit bottoms with a blue strip down its side, and black trainers with white stripes and a white motif on the heel.
Detective constable Leigh Inglis said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the member of staff to go through and we’re asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information which can help with our ongoing investigation, to come forward.”
