  1. Well not quite re Xmas date. Xmas was shifted to coincide with the end of the winter equinox and the rebirth of summer. As no one knows when a man called Jehoshua(Jesus being the Greek derivation) was born a council decided on all things ‘Christian’ at the council of Nicea. The entrenched astrological and astronomical dates of the year were simply too hard to change for the people so the Church co-opted them, Xmas and Easter being the main ones although others were too but regional.
