My Personal Recovery – We can all recover – Reach out – We are here for you all

This CAN be true for many

So, recovery is the title, and it’s a slight lie. Today, 19th August 2018 I am in a slightly better place than I was when I wrote this for example. Finally in the ‘Mental Health’ System – LONG, HARD, ROAD AHEAD – I SEE HOPE!

My Last blog about this topic from back in April 23rd 2018

That blog above was my last blog about these issues we all suffer from, be it us or other we love or call friends. The last blog I done regarding our shared mental health issues, pain, suffering, depression, whatever is holding us all back is something I used to share every day. I had this belief that ‘Talking out is helping’ – The more I awaken from the mental distress I caused others via taking less Opiate based drugs, the more I see clearly that some of the things I did write over the years all the way back to 2011 were voices I had no control over. For me to sit and read my own words back shows me how awful I was. But like most I am not cured, I am not out of the woods. I think I have came to accept what is wrong with me, but more important, learnt to not throw my issues onto those I love. After all, we ALL have a Recovery story don’t we?

GOD I MISS THIS!!

Along my journey I have become a soldier of war same as most, fighting for my Partner, my kids and other loved ones. What I see today is a FAMILY OF PEOPLE WHO CARE. Recently I was invited to start doing a Podcast on Football by 2 amazing lads. The Podcast is about Celtic FC and it’s called the Pod Black Brimmer. Spreaker and Itunes by the way 🙂 The UTTER abuse thrown at me from loved ones and friends here in Edinburgh for being part of a Podcast with THAT title is funny to be fair, but I am clever enough to understand, won’t stop me doing the podcast however 😀 I love my Celtic. Those who know me know I don’t hate, I am an Edinburgh lad exposed to the same life we all have been exposed too just in a different place, but to the 2 lads Brian and Davie who gave me a chance to show myself I can sit in my Man-Cave alone and talk Football, I can’t thank them enough. I suffer with 6 Disabilities, Suicidal thoughts, M.E. (Myalgic Mencephalomyelitis) + Fibromyalgia + PTSD + Agoraphobia and Psychosis and yeah IT’S HARD and the medication is harmful, but we must take these tablets and potions to stay level, do I agree with drug consumption to help us? Not really, but I don’t drink Alcohol. I see Alcohol as a legal, socially acceptable way to lose the feelings we feel, so each to their own, I just see Alcohol as a damaging liquid, just an observation through my own journey. I am not a scared person, I am aware these issues make me honest to a level I could be harmful to others, I cannot control these feelings, so I MANAGE my life along with my Amazing partner who I have known since age 14 and been with since age 17, she is my everything, my rock ❤ I don’t do these Podcasts or blogs to be a wee Snowflake or feel all special, no, it’s me sitting in a room alone talking about what I loved to do, and miss still to this day, Football, yeah I miss the Touchline, changing room, the chance to be social and all that comes with working with kids and adults in Football. NOTHING in Football can be done alone, it’s a Team game, no matter what your involvement is, you need others to carry and help you along the way. So I MUST thank Brian and Davie for noticing I was ready, and also everyone who loves me and who I love back x

Before we can even start to recover to a state of existence, first we MUST find reason. For me personally my reasons were easy. My Kids, my beautiful amazing partner, my Mum, Sisters, Brother, nieces and nephews with others and definitely friends. Lads I have known since I was a kid when my Dad used to run businesses and shops all over Edinburgh, all older than me, lol. Most of my Friends are older than me, so rooond you all, it’s great to be the youngest 😀 They all rip me brilliantly, make fun of me, but I do the same to them, IT’S A HEALTHY THING, and if any of you are reading. Do Remember!! One: Clerry Jungle and Two: Yous are Dicks 😀 Joking aside, my reasons were as simple as yours, because I know YOU struggle sometimes too. The game of Life is very simple for me. I say ‘LIFE IS HARD – SO DON’T MAKE IT WORSE FOR YOURSELF’ – Personally I believe if we start there with that saying, it’s a good start, we ain’t making things worse.

Linkin Park – Somewhere I Belong
Via: Linkin Park on You Tube

Sadly like you I suffer. The pain is horrific and my mind has thoughts I have to battle every moment. Managing THIS I can’t do alone. First and foremost my partner has helped me, guided me, taught me and keeps doing so. My 2 sons too help me, 2 amazing lads who are amazing men with loving partners and are Dads themselves with two little kids, a wee boy and a wee girl just waiting on their GAGA to jump into their lives. When the time is right, life will allow it, I pray this is true. The harm and hurt I have caused others is an issue I must get past and find a way to find hope and live. Suicide is a thought, also an act, but first a living breathing thought.

Depression #FuckDepression!!! is a darkness most have, some higher than others, but suffering is suffering. I used to think I had it worse, but I was 32 or something then 😀 Here I am just turned 45 and I have found ‘Comfort in Home’ has been a huge thing for me, the only down side is due to my Disabilities, like you, like anyone, our home can become a comfort zone we don’t want to escape. Recently I restarted singing lessons to start a Chester Bennington Tribute act and it’s on hold for a few months due to circumstances, but I can’t wait to get back to the freedom of Music. Look down the right hand side of this page, songs and images. Music saves us, it unites our souls where we can co-exist on ANY LEVEL. With UTTER RESPECT Politics, Politicians, Religion, Sport and the WORST CULPRIT! Money, that divides us. We do need money, but if all we are doing is chasing Money and the NEED to consume with money, all we are doing is buying moments of happiness. Trust me, I am an expert at this 😀 For now that is it. I am no harm, how can I be with two little Girls who call me Daddy around me? How can I be anything other than my Daughters best friend, because I am, we are pals, we laugh, we cry, we sing. They are my first reason. Two little fun girls who don’t know they saved me, and might never know. Again, and I say this on Facebook a lot, why don’t we listen to our Kids more. Even if you don’t have kids, go and spend time with the blank canvas that a child can be, an innocence so amazing it can only be loving fun.

Some leave clues to sadness and pain, if we look and listen, we can be helped

Often in life our very saving Grace can be right in-front of us. All we need to do is listen, and we can be helped. Not saved or cured, just helped. That is my story, I don’t want notoriety or hits, nor do I need to be liked by anyone, I am loved and liked by people already, but do feel free to become a friend, I find it hard to let people in, but so do you maybe? Trust must be earned. So I am reaching out, if you want to reach back, I am here. Be kind to others, and please remember to include yourself friends, be kind to you too x

Jose Mourinho – “I Feel Like My Work Was Betrayed” – His Last Video

PARIS, FRANCE - FEBRUARY 17: Jose Mourinho manager of Chelseagives a thumbs up prior to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea at Parc des Princes on February 17, 2015 in Paris, France. (Photo by Alex Livesey/Getty Images)

Being involved in football at small and average levels gives you, or should give you an eye for what is there, seeing things before they happen, understanding body language is what the best managers in the World can do.  I said a while back ‘Jose lost this dressing room’ From League winners to 1 spot above the relegation zone it does not take a huge football brain to understand “Something is wrong” The players stopped working for him. Even if it’s denied you can see it clearly in every Chelsea game till Jose’s last 2-1 defeat from Leicester. I didn’t work at his level but I working with kids and adults. No matter if there are 10/100 or 10,000 watching as a manager you still deal with players the same as Jose does. The only difference is ‘PAY’ the rest is the same. On my travels I got a sneak look into a few HUGE Teams dressing rooms and I seen with my own eyes that my job was the same. When it’s you and players in 1 room it doesn’t matter if you are Chelsea or Westpark United. I love Jose, I love to hear him talk with passion about a game I could talk about all day long as I used to do with a few ex friends I gave coaching awards too even though they didn’t stick around long enough to deserve one. Trust is the ONLY thing in football that can make you fall so bad you never get up, once you lose trust you are gone. Chelsea needed to do this. Real Madrid won’t take him but if you research hard enough you will see Jose once said “I would love to manage Celtic FC” This has me thinking.

Scotland – A Short Video From Glasgow Proving We Prejudge

bt lady

Watch the video, you will see what this video shows us all

2 minutes 20 seconds long video here. I am really sorry I can’t 100% say who made this movie as I got sent it as a raw file. People send me 50 stories be them sites, video’s a day and I honestly don’t write about them all, this one I had too, you will see why, not knowing who to thank here, I used the names at the end and everyone mentioned in this short video Scotland. Nessie, Nancy and Mary are the 3 people names as who made it. This is a video that will start by having you think one thing about Scotland, or to be more precise, a part of Glasgow. I watched this thinking it would be about sectarianism but no, you must watch this to the end, then you will see how our minds are programmed to work. I fell for it, will you? In-fact, all the above could be wrong, forget I said a thing, watch then be honest with yourself, please! Featured Nathan Arbuckle, Peter Ewing, Tyler Marklow, Jane Blakely and Bobby the Dog.

We are Celtic – and we say NO to Racism

The player step behind the cause

The players step behind the cause

Yet another good story from my club, Glasgow Celtic Football Club. Many Celtic fans will wonder why I say that as our club name rather than just ‘Celtic’ Well most who read here are not from Scotland. I did other blogs here about the ethical way our club is ran. As a club and more important it’s million’s of fans globally we do the right things. We are fair, we don’t cheat and we get recognition for it.

Quote from: TheCelticwiki.com/

The FIFA Fair Play Award is an award given by FIFA to players who performed fair play in their games or were involved in a specific incident of fair play or the spectators were given for their good behaviour for a long period of time or fighting against racism. In 2003, Celtic fans were awarded for their behaviour and bonhomie in the UEFA Cup Final in Seville.
No fans were arrested, and the behaviour was exemplary (relatively for a travelling football support), and the award was an unexpected delight for all connected to the club. Thanks and praise must also be given to the Porto fans who were well received by the Celtic fans as well on the day.

AS the European football family begins its fortnight of action to campaign against discrimination and promote inclusion Celtic Football Club is delighted to once again make a strong statement against racism.
Between now and October 22, activities are being held in more than 45 European countries and as a club participating in European competition, Celtic, in association with UEFA will broadcast this strong message to a huge audience.
Within this period, Celtic will also work locally with other Scottish clubs and the Show Racism the Red Card campaign and at every SPFL game next weekend, clubs will be united in calling for an end to racism.
Celtic captain Scott Brown said: “Celtic has been a club open to all people since its formation in 1888.
“Our club and the Celtic team are once again delighted to support all activities within this fortnight of action as we continue to send the strongest message that racism has no place whatsoever in football or society.”

Celtic FC Foundation to work with British Red Cross

ec5086390926d859d9ad49bcfb7a5a4b

The Red Cross thanked Celtic FC for this help but this is what my club do, Celtic were formed in 1888 by Priest Brother Walfrid to feed the Irish immigrants entering Western Scotland from Ireland and escaping the London Political and Royal oppression. I have family who escaped so I know first hand the real and true effects any kind of oppression has on a people. Scotland is now the most devolved Country on Earth and is about to free herself from this evil Union of Westminster and Media liars. The abuse Celtic get is unfair because they give the most in charity Worldwide in terms of their fiscal standing as a Football Club. This is why I am utterly pleased to be a part of the Celtic Family, they are like no other. Home games fans bring 1000’s of bags of food for the rising food banks that will be closed in the coming years when Scotland stands alone. Celtic are a Scottish Club born through Irish roots, the Irish flag flies high above Celtic Park alongside the Scottish Saltire. We are a generous club and people. Well done Celtic FC AGAIN giving money most other clubs don’t give, the amounts we give are staggering, but as a wise man once said “Celtic are a club like no other” This wise man here…

crestCELTIC FC Foundation recently announced that its share of the proceeds from this weekend’s duo of Jock Stein 30th Anniversary events will be devoted to assisting those affected by the current refugee crisis. We are now delighted to confirm that our international aid charity partner will be the British Red Cross in Glasgow and, in particular, its Europe Refugee Crisis Appeal.

Desperate families have no choice but to risk their lives to flee war and persecution. They urgently need our help. Shocking images in the media over the last few days show desperate scenes of families who have lost their loved ones – families on a terrifying journey in search of safety. They need food, water and medical care. The Europe Refugee Crisis Appeal will support refugees and communities affected by the crisis across Europe, in neighbouring countries and the UK.

Tony Hamilton, CEO of Celtic FC Foundation said: “The British Red Cross is working tirelessly to provide direct aid to refugees across Europe who are in desperate need of our support, and it is an honour to partner with them on this occasion. “The funds raised on Sunday will have a huge impact on the ground, exactly where it’s needed most.”

Interim UK Director for the Red Cross, David Miller, said: “People are arriving in Europe with very little – some with only a family photo and the clothes they left in.

“We are in the midst of one of the biggest humanitarian disasters of our time. Millions of people are being forced to risk their lives in a desperate search for safety as conflicts rage around the world. “Celtic FC Foundation and their fans’ support will make a real difference to the refugees and communities affected across Europe and in neighbouring countries. Thank you for supporting the appeal.”

Celtic head to Sweden – Squad depth shows in 3-1 United win

d9c2742cd29157ca17499246d40c0a11

Usually as a Celtic fan an game away to Dundee United would be measured as important and we would always play our strongest 11, today showed Celtic to be the new force they have actually became, where we are going as a club and a playing staff that will only improve. If we win on Tuesday against Malmo Ronny is God, should we lose on Tuesday Ronny will be up for the sack by many people. One thing we do know is, no matter what! We have European football till Christmas. But I KNOW we will get past Malmo #Fact

Tuesday 25th - 19:45 Malmö (2) Vs Celtic (3)

Tuesday 25th – 19:45 Malmö (2) Vs Celtic (3)

I was out and about and recorded today’s game so had to spend all afternoon ignoring text messages and calls from people who I thought wanted to talk football or I would talk football with, you know the story 😀 Doing everything possible to get through town, out your car and into your house, with people in it nasty enough to tell you the score 😀 And to then sit down with a glass or cup of choice and enjoy the game, it worked today but when I seen the starting 11 I was like “OH NO” Even Scott Allan couldn’t get a start! Last year it never worked up in Inverness but there is something new about this squad, more together and Ronny is using his squad BRILLIANTLY! We will see how brilliant on Tuesday night!

Red card in first game - Who seen this coming by THAT ref?

Yellow card in first game – Who seen this coming by THAT ref?

Nine changes and with Ambrose I had ‘The Fear’ but there he was again, my good mate Leigh Griffiths 😀 I don’t actually know the guy I just know people he hang around with. Remember this? My October 1st 2014 – Open Letter to Leigh Griffiths <Click there and >>HERE<<by Etims) Well the good man put me at ease when on 17 minutes a superb through ball by Izaguirre Griffiths split the 2 center halves rounded the keeper and passed it into the empty net. This was 100% from the training ground, Leigh is beating the off-side trap more these days and you can tell this is practiced, very easy goal to look at but took a lot of hard work and boring routine training, but the players see the repetition working, so it’s all coming together slowly and will get amazingly better, trust me!! 🙂

Griffiths does what he is getting really good at, how good can he become?

Griffiths does what he is getting really good at, how good can he become?

Celtic AGAIN wasted chance after chance and stranger still most of them from Commons but it was his 2nd full 90 Minutes since May! Wasteful again and this is an issue we are hoping is just something teams go through for a few weeks. Since Boyata gave the ball away twice against ICT in the 4-2 game all he has done is give the ball away mostly, I hope today’s rest helps him get over what is probably a confidence issue, Ronny will be getting his confidence back up I am positive Ronny has this effect on players who’s desire he knows is worth coaching in football and life, this is what Ronny does, he coaches the mind of a football player also. Celtic finally got the 2nd goal after a United corner was cleared, Common’s ended up stand side after a counter attack with a good cross needed, he duly delivered but before the ball could get to Griffiths for a tap in United defender Mark Durnan stuck a foot out hoping his keeper would kick clear, well a mess ensued and the ball rolled over the line for 2-0 Celtic

Durnan puts past his own keeper

Durnan puts past his own keeper

The 2nd half ended on a sour note and a terrible challenge by Ambrose leading to a United penalty, again like the Malmo and Kilmarnock games before we should have been 5-0 up, this time a penalty just before half time slotted home by Chris Erskine. So what should have been another easy half time chat and a cup of tea for Ronny for the 3rd game in as many weeks meant he was probably giving them a hard time, but knowing deep down we had more than enough to beat United to come with and this is what happened. Half Time: United 1-2 Celtic

United pull one back with the last kick of the ball 1st half

United pull one back with the last kick of the ball 1st half

The 2nd half was a different affair altogether, Celtic had the game and pressed well, United never looked like getting a 2nd apart from some strange goalkeeping from Logan Bailly on his Celtic debut struggled with a back-pass and his clumsy challenge on Muirhead had the United fans shouting ‘Penalty, apart from that Celtic were steady, Rogic I thought had a good game today in the Scott Brown role beside Mulgrew who was subbed but ok for Tuesday, Commons got BT Sports man of the match but I thought Eoghan O’Connell had a fantastic game, and him twice giving CB partner Ambrose a roasting is proof enough Eoghan has more to his game than Ambrose, this kid should get a good run in the side in the league as I think he will progress playing alongside Van Dijk, maybe he has lost that chance. I thought he really played very well, and with the 3rd goal also coming from an academy player it almost shoots down the “Celtic don’t produce enough home grown talent out of Lennoxtown” argument that I seen in some media last week

2 Academy products making it look easy

2 Academy products making it look easy

Celtic put the game to bed with 15 minutes to play with Coll Donaldson getting a foot to a goal bound shot from Callum McGregor, I think the ball was heading in anyway but it hit enough of Donaldson to wrong foot Zwick and roll past him. Celtic had several shots and corners in the second half, Ronny got his substitutions right at the right times and all in a good 3 points. McGregor did really well in a loan year in England and came back to Celtic and scored a few at the start of last season then fell away and sadly got injured, yesterday we seen a glimpse of what this kid can do, he can play and if played every week I think would get double figures in goals, a headache for Ronny but a really good one, we still need another striker and a few defenders however, lets hope Champions League Football and it’s fiscal prize can get us the players we need. A certain ex Celtic striker would walk back to Glasgow if given half a chance and also to clear up, Griffiths will happily see out his career at Celtic unless a huge bid comes in but I doubt that highly, we will see

McGregor gets back on the goal trail

McGregor gets back on the goal trail

Now we must wait till Tuesday to see if resting 9 players was a good call, yesterday it is a good call but did all 9 players need rested? I am not 2nd guessing Ronny’s tactics here, far from it I think Ronny is slowly taking Celtic to a new level. We won’t spend silly money on players but the ones Ronny are signing are showing they are decent and will keep improving further, look at say? Johansen and others, his buying record is good and he also makes others better with Bitton being 1 example. Unfair to judge his player buying and selling as he came in the door last summer and brought some dud loan players with him with the added Scepovic gamble that never paid off. Slowly I think Celtic are becoming a TOP European side in terms of football ability. We are a Global Giant, no arguments but Ronny wants to match as much as possible our Global appeal and name with a way of playing. He is moulding a very good unit of players and also getting rid of dead wood he doesn’t see being long term good for the team, Pukki and Balde are gone and I think Stokes and Boerrigter will be out the door this transfer window also with maybe a few still to come in, probably is this is being done on the principle of us playing in the Champions League or 100% the Europa League should unlikely fail on Tuesday against an average side, good start to the season however, pre-season and early domestic football has been planned really well by Ronny, we will see on Tuesday if he got it spot on, I think he has

Great team of 3 took a HUGE risk today, worked well

Great team of 3 took a HUGE risk today, worked well

My man of the match was Eoghan O’Connell, every time he was called on he did his job but he also did well on the ball, Celtic play with the ball around the back a lot patiently looking for gaps to play in, the kid showed today he can do this

See you all Tuesday when we will all be celebrating Champions’ League Group Stage Football. 😉

Ronny Roars’ Celtic into Playoffs

JS69532852

Ronny has these guys playing at a VERY high level, it’s going to get higher! Buckle up fans!

Make no mistake readers that in football we fans will let a manager know when he is doing a bad job, last night for the untrained eye was a very solid easy looking defensive job by Celtic. Well I think it was more than just a decent performance, this side we played had beaten GOOD TEAMS last year, one being a Europa League Finalist last season to name just 1, what Ronny has done in 12 months is jaw-dropping. He said last year at this time “Judge me in 1 year from now” remember?

UntitledUntitled2Untitled3Pnt

He asked for one year, we waited and gave him that year, now look! Keep in mind Celtic can’t go and spend £10 Million every season on 1 player like most teams we meet seem capable of doing. Celtic have always battled above their weight, more so in the last 20 or so years when money made the issue of forming a football side harder due to TV money in the big European Countries, we went to a UEFA Cup Final a decade ago, before we had just stood back up, Lenny then came in at the back of Strachan and Tony and made things good again, Barcelona 2-1 at home was a sign of what we can do, and when I say ‘We’ I mean the Club, starting first and foremost with us fans, to the boards the 1st team right down the ladder to kids teams, as a club we are in an amazing place considering the money we don’t get, some really do need a reality check when it comes to finances at Celtic, we are doing brilliant

_84708935_bittonjohansen

They knew they had it in them before a ball was kicked – This is utter BELIEF!

We can mention the near £5 Million wasted on Pukki Balde and Boerrigter AND wages. Then some will mention £20 in the door from Wanyama then Forster and a few years champions league campaigns. The facts are simple, we are doing well with our income, how did we pay for the stadium upgrades we all love but never question how it got there, it got there through 10’s of thousands of pounds, we actually have spare cash to spend on making our match day ‘Better.

DSCF2399 - Copy

Look at this! This costs a LOT!

DSCF2395

..But it’s all coming together on the park as well!

What we seen last night was hard proof of the hard work going on behind the scenes. We can point to many managers over the years, some we loved to start with to others we disliked before they came in the door, for us to then hate or like them in the end, as fans we judge too quickly. With Ronny a year ago, I said on this exact platform “What if Ronny delivers the treble and gets us last 16 of Europa League” to an outcry of unhappy emotions, I get it and I got it at the time. See I know football just enough to understand what is good and what is not, in Ronny at first glance I said “This will work” Look into the articles I have done here on Ronny after 6 months and a year on, you will read me saying “One day a smaller club with more money will come and try and take Ronny from us” I stand by that statement, no brag! I am just delighted to be able to write here 😀 To the owner and my Editor here, the pleasure is mine, who doesn’t like writing about Celtic, especially in the good times!

Don't rule out Virgil 'maybe signing a 1 year extension!

Don’t rule out Virgil ‘maybe signing a 1 year extension!

Last night was what Ronny said we would do, when asked in the media he said “We will go and do our jobs” And we did, Ronny is no fool, we all should know this now, the players he is buying are working, we often do what we did like last night, and I was one of them to question it, Ciftci starting up top ahead of Griffiths, looking back it was a masterstroke by Ronny, Ciftci didn’t do too much in the sense of visible work but he made a nuisance of himself, he tired their back 4 out if you watch the game back again like I just did, then Griffiths comes on and we miss two sitters! Ronny’s plan worked and his players made it happen.

We protected Boyata's goal with so much ease

We protected Boyata’s goal with so much ease

What we have as a football manager today we best love hard because truly one day a GIANT of a club offering £50 a season to buy players will come calling. Right now when I think of that day I see Ronny saying “No thanks” Ronny is what? 39 years old? He has time on his hands to stay here long enough to become a part of our historical future and he knows it! I watch him talk and am blown away how he won the media over and owns them, he just tells it as it is “We were poor” or “we were superb” He doesn’t hide behind excuses, a year ago he was dying inside after a poor Champions League campaign talking to a media he didn’t know about players and club he didn’t know, that takes courage, think about that for a second please.

HIS Plan worked

This young inexperienced lad comes over from Norway to Celtic and OWNS IT! As I said at the top, he asked for a year and there is the proof, go research for yourself, you will see he asked for a year, now he is delivering. He said over the weekend “We will be better, players will leave and players will come in” Ronny knew before the first draw he was going to the Champions League. Ronny said last night “No matter who we face in the final playoff game, they will not be as good as Qarabag”

He has the dressing room and total respect from his soldiers - Roaring here!

He has the dressing room and total respect from his soldiers – Roaring here!

He knows we are going to the Champions League and so do his players, they are above confidence, they are at a level of thinking I have never seen a Celtic side for a LONG TIME, they JUST KNOW 😀 And it’s brilliant to watch. Bitton and Johansen with Boyata are 3 reasons, add in GMS and Armstrong and we have 5 reasons to trust Ronny with our money and players. This guy will be a football giant when he retires, and yet he is still of age where he could play, he is 6 years younger than Davie Weir for the love of God 😀 We are on a winning team here peeps

He is a bit special right? lol

He is a bit special right? lol

Some will moan and cry regardless! Me? I see good times a-coming! Had you read me a year ago, 6 months ago, a month ago, you would have read POSITIVITY! Because this is what Ronny is and demands from his players, he has the fans onside just now, just wait a year, I promise you, this guy will have a statue somewhere one day, we are heading for greatness

Enjoy the journey fans!

Boyata nicks priceless home win for Celtic [Goal]

Boyata headed home the all important goal

Boyata headed home the all important goal

WRITTEN BY SHAUN GIBSON

Here to write about Celtic. Match reports, player biographies and much more.

Not the best game in the world and you could tell from the players it was a nervous performance. But we won 1-0, we more than deserved the win tonight there can be no argument we deserve the 1-0. More important we didn’t lose an away goal and I really think we will score over there whilst starting Griffiths.

Showing how the game went

Showing how the game went

FK Qarabag did really well to stop us tonight, their tactics were good and they gave us nothing, Ciftci missed a sitter, Virgil Van Dijk headed over when it was easier to score, Qarabag were kept to long distance shots, they had a lot of the ball in the first half but as the 2nd half progressed you could visibly see them get tired, this can only be a good thing in the away leg as our fitness was still superb into the 4 minutes added on

Celtic got the goal we needed on 82 minutes, Commons who just came on had a corner over at the north stand and his cross was met at the near post by Boyata who didn’t miss, mayhem ensued and it was a case of ‘Let hang on to 1-0’ Thankfully we held out. I don’t have too much to write or share. My man of the match was Boyata as he won everything and got the goal.

Goal thanks to Twitter user, sorry forgot to tag name in

GOAL!!

GOAL!!

I will say Celtic TV didn’t play well tonight, this game should have been made available for others worldwide. We now have a league game before a long travel to Qarabag in Azerbaijan. I think Ronny got away with a big mistake tonight, Griffiths should start, he is scoring goals and sadly Ciftci can’t buy a goal, tonight he missed a total sitter. But no judging, we go with 1-0 and we know we can score over there. Was a hard night and it could have went either way in the end, so we take this and we look forward to next week and the ability to watch the game on TV!

HH, Shauny

Ronny didn't look all too happy tonight, but fair play, 1-0 win against a decent side!

Celtic east past Stjarnan 6-1 on aggregate

Mulgrew puts Celtic 2-1 ahead on the night - Via Celtic FC

Mulgrew puts Celtic 2-1 ahead on the night – Via Celtic FC

Going into this game 2-0 up it was important Celtic got the 1st goal, Stjarnan scored on 7 minutes through sloppy ball watching by Boyata allowing Finsen to slot home. 2-1 and a worrying next 10 minutes as they had another 2 chances. Thankfully after the first 15 minutes Celtic owned the game. Only when Ambrose came on for Lustig did his mistakes allow Stjarnan a few half chances, look back and Craig Gordon went crazy at Ambrose twice inside 1 minute and rightly so, lazy defender at times.

Will be happy with 6-1 but deep down he knows we need to improve fast

Will be happy with 6-1 but deep down he knows we need to improve fast

It took Celtic half an hour to break down the Stjarnan’s defense when Nir Bitton headed home a Mulgrew corner to make it 1-1 on the night, 3-1 on aggregate, the same 2 players combined in the 2nd half but Bitton was off-side, Mulgrew played really well tonight

Celtic were rampant at this stage and I didn’t see much at all from Ciftci, I have no idea what Ronny is thinking starting him ahead of Griffiths. This was a game where we were getting in behind them, Ciftci holds the ball up while Griffiths can turn and score and run in behind or get on the end of a cross, 2 different players for different games to be fair. Tonight Griffiths was more suited to the game, he proved this with his goal and 30 seconds after coming on scrapping the post with a shot, he did more in a 5 minutes that Ciftci did in his 80 minutes on the park. Hate to say these things, I hope he gets his goal and Ronny learns to use them for the right games, just my tactical opinions

Brown shakes hands with man of the match Mulgrew for his fine goal

Brown shakes hands with man of the match Mulgrew for his fine goal

Celtic should have been well ahead in the first half but had to wait till the 49th minutes to go ahead on the night, this was a sweet goal and strike, Celtic moved the ball well across the park, ball landed at Brown’s feet he simply rolled it in-front of Mulgrew who hammered the ball or passed it with power back across goal for 2-1 Celtic on the night, great goal and finally goals were coming

Mulgrew far right fires home

Mulgrew far left fires home

Celtic had many chances in the game but had to wait till the dying minutes of the game to get 2 more goals. First up was Griffiths, a good move led GMS to pass the ball wide to Mulgrew who threw a low pass/cross into the 6 yard line and Griffiths doesn’t miss these chances. 2 minutes into injury time, again GMS was involved as he got to the goal line and squared for Johansen to fire Celtic 4-1 ahead on the night for a final score of 6-1 on aggregate

Great team goal, powerful finish

Next up is a tricky tie in the 3rd Qualifying round of the Champions League against Azerbaijan Champions Qarabag <Click) This will be a difficult game, we are at home first and must win 3-0 at least and not lose a goal. We go in as favourites but we must start both these games better and not play Ambrose, sorry I just don’t trust the guy at right back.

TCN Match Reporter Man of the match – Charlie Mulgrew, was brilliant tonight, Izzy may be in trouble for his place but Ronny is comfy with this, he picks the best 11 he see’s
